I'll Be Honest

Illuminated mounts of paper, people rush past
Don’t let them see these words
They’re not meant for them
All these empty thoughts and random ramblings
Found no better place to start so I guess I’ll be honest
I’ve been in a tough spot these past months
Removed from most things I hold dear
Thoughts of death, of those who left
And a deeply rooted existential fear
But love sticks with me
It gives me something to cherish in these trying times
And I won’t let my happiness be denied
