It’s raining and the lights are
Glistening on the surface of the street
You’re the last one to leave
And turn the lights out
Is it me you’re looking for?
You paint a wonderful scene with your words
But the everyday is something
You can’t seem to cover
It’s all around you
Creeping inside you
Reaching your core
And taking over more of you
You say that it won’t get you down
And yet you seem more solemn everyday
By the hour
You don’t mind
'cos you kinda like the look you get
From contemplating suicide
Over another
