We perpetuate the myth
We concede but look it in the eyes and deny that it exists
We fool ourselves into believing
That this cycle won’t repeat
But repetition is what we’ve learned (we blind ourselves)
And we respond with indifference
Procrastination
We settle for never quite complete
Delusional
In our search for right and wrong
The more it stagnates
The more we fill our hearts with malice and contempt
We chase the ghosts and strain to hear lost sentiment
Cast in shadows we tear away piece by piece
We fan the flames
We burn the fabric of familiar places
Scatter the ashes
