so cautiously she’s stalking now across the palm of my right hand,
merly a thin branch in the wind,
touching the wound… where i had cut my finger.
i hand her over to the nurses, one of them — directed me by the teacher
carries out theoperation, for wich i dont have the knoledge.
one day everyone here must fulfil this very task alone,
as it’s the only way to learn… and in the end become a master…
yes, this means responsibility,
and it’s connected directly to stress and fear.
the little spider has her operation on a table
that is decorated like a forest, all with thicket and fir trees…
and right beside the flashing lights and displays of the instruments.
so hear now of the very scene thet happend right before this (here):
an elephant on the plane roof of a tall cathedral… very close to the edge.
«climb down his tail, as if it were a rope!
have faith and confidence, belive that he will hold you!»
but the elephant is not anchored in the ground,
yes, he might have the will to remain in position,
perhaps doing everything within his power to hold me,
not to slip and fall himself…
but in my opinion this is hardly enouth.
can this be a question of trust, at all ?!?
looking out of the window, while the underground moves down
into the tunnel … — a man, who has alrady passes the elephant-test, says:
«fear must be conquered, boy!
many of what comes up are merly old fears of death!»

Backbone Practise (traduzione)

stiamo entrando nella sala operatoria dell'obitorio ramiliar:
le studentesse infermiere fanno molto rumore,
le loro voci echeggiano dalle pareti di piastrelle nude...
Improvviso uno svenimento: «Non riesco più a mettere a nudo queste voci!!!»
il piccolo ragno senza spina dorsale, che in realtà è un cane,
si è fatta male - o si è fatta male?- qualcosa alla schiena...
oh, ne ha bisogno di uno nuovo?
Senza busto, è composta solo da gambe...
proprio come una piccola croce schiacciata, un minuscolo crocifisso.
con tanta cautela ora sta camminando sul palmo della mia mano destra,
allegramente un sottile ramo al vento,
toccando la ferita... dove mi ero tagliato il dito.
la consegno alle infermiere, una di loro, mi ha indicato l'insegnante
esegue l'operazione, per la quale non ho la conoscenza.
un giorno tutti qui dovranno svolgere questo compito da soli,
perché è l'unico modo per imparare... e alla fine diventare un maestro...
sì, questo significa responsabilità,
ed è direttamente collegato a stress e paura.
il piccolo ragno ha la sua operazione su un tavolo
che è decorata come una foresta, tutta con boschetti e abeti...
e proprio accanto alle luci lampeggianti e ai display degli strumenti.
quindi ascolta ora la stessa scena che è accaduta poco prima (qui):
un elefante sul tetto piano di un'alta cattedrale... molto vicino al bordo.

ma l'elefante non è ancorato al suolo,
sì, potrebbe avere la volontà di rimanere in posizione,
forse facendo tutto ciò che è in suo potere per tenermi,
per non scivolare e cadere lui stesso...
ma a mio avviso questo non è affatto vero.
può essere una questione di fiducia?!?
guardando fuori dalla finestra, mentre la metropolitana scende
nel tunnel... - un uomo, che ha già superato la prova dell'elefante, dice:
«La paura va vinta, ragazzo!
molti di ciò che viene fuori sono semplici vecchie paure della morte!»
