Stratovarius sono una band power metal finlandese in lingua inglese formatasi nel 1984 in Finlandia. Originariamente chiamata Black Water , la band sviluppò il suo caratteristico sound speed metal con l'aggiunta del chitarrista Тимо Толкки nel 1985. Stratovarius divennero uno dei pionieri del power metal, pubblicando album epocali come "Episode" e "Visions" I loro successi, tra cui "Hunting High and Low" e "Black Diamond" sono diventati classici del genere.
